I personally feel that I have laid a successful siege on this matter for many years now and I can say I am satisfied with the result.
Whilst congratulations are in order for The British Museum and its partners and others involved in this very productive outcome I hasten to add that they should be allowed to get on with it and (unhelpful) opportunists should not seize on this project to get in the way of the progress made so far.
Just leave them alone to get on with the job.
The Benin people do not need any spanners in the works at this present time. Go and find other causes to champion.
And thank you for doing so.
