Vocabulary development
Develop students reading comprehension skills using Kingdom of Benin subject specific texts.
The activity below is effective with all students.

Steps
  1. Give each student part of the above text (or any other text) and ask them to highlight new and unfamiliar words or words they have questions about. 
  2. Collect highlighted words from the whole class.
  3. Work on each word: finding roots, meanings, learning to spell and using in sentences etc.
